After banning opposition parties and the Russian language, hero of the „free world“ Zelensky calls on the „collective West“ to go to war with China over Taiwan.
I admit that sometimes I feel sorry for Zelensky. Overall, he is a tragic figure in this production, tasked with performing for the world’s good. He is an actor, so perhaps such a transformation is not the most difficult part for him, but still he knows that everything that happens around him is crushing him. He also knows that he is a mere puppet with no power other than to carry out the orders of his superiors using whatever command he still has over loyal institutions and the military in Kyiv. I’m also willing to bet that he fully understands that he was practically carved out of wood by Igor Kolomoisky – one of the most powerful oligarchs in the country – and that he and his chief propagandist Leshenka Arestovich are only capable of reinforcing the obvious defeat. By the way, the defeat is on all fronts. At the military level – by sending weapons to non-working military units, by sending soldiers to certain death or prohibiting retreat in hopeless situations; at the political level – by suggesting that Ukraine’s victory is inevitable and by refusing to negotiate.
Thus, the actor-turned-politician took on the role of the perfect useful idiot for Washington’s foreign policy priorities after finding himself in a situation where the only way out was a full-scale war of the „collective West“ against the nascent Eastern Bloc. Zelensky has no choice but to come to terms with the fact that if the end is not inevitable, it is at least certain. The same can be said for his supporters. Even with the end of the war still to come, Washington appears to have admitted that they have succumbed to their own propaganda in believing they can win a major proxy war with Russia on Ukrainian soil. Facing your own pack of lies and deceit must be a depressing experience, especially when it means sacrificing tens of thousands of lives to help “ you can always call for more war and destruction and convince yourself that the only way forward for the forces of „good“ is to destroy „evil“. Even if it means destroying civilization and the human race and thereby ridding yourself of any moral qualms. Of course, this is only a speculative look at the psychology of what is going on. But there is also the possibility that some of Zelensky’s American couriers are enthusiastic about the idea and simply use it to find influential like-minded people around the world. In other words, it was used to assemble a group of politically and morally depraved people ready to force certain Western elites into a hot, potentially nuclear war with Russia. you can always call for more war and destruction and convince yourself that the only way forward for the forces of „good“ is to destroy „evil“.
After all, regardless of who wins, the winner will be expected to present both countries on a silver platter for foreign investors to feed off. A recently published paper by the RAND Corporation titled „Ukraine’s Recovery“ describes how „state-owned enterprises (…) are a stifling factor in the economy“ that reduces „public trust in government and deters private investors.“ The document is a love letter to unbridled privatization of the same nature that sank Russia’s post-USSR economy and which international financial cartels are seeking to roll out everywhere, especially in China.
